Had just upgraded to the 6870 and found Black Ops was oddly lagging... even at min settings was very much confused.
Easily fixed however, just uninstalled AVG anti virus... fixed instanstly. Put settings back up to max and had a blast since.
This game rocks.. Now time for Mulitplayer Fun.
Sadly this did not fix the Medal of Honor Tier 1 crashes on single player, but the game is poor in comparsion anyway.

I have the same exact problem but i don't use avg i use avira... Should i uninstall it? Thanks man
I would certainly recommend trying it. If it works or not let us know please.
So random how AVG causes this? What made you uninstall it? Just guessing?
It is the only other thing i have running, so made sense to try uninstalling.
And frankly was a bit sick of the popup they put on it.
The product has done nothing to protect me either, noscript protects me from the main problems these days, and malwarebytes is a nice standalone scanner for specific files, All i need.
so did uninstalling avira worked?

This is not the Antivirus problem.... simply disable yout anti-virus when u play the GAME ..
chek ur comp software environment registory n clean it up, clean u r HDD with good antivirus n up-2-date u r all video, sound n others hardware drivers...
